Wie die Band, rund um Frontman Chris „The Lord“ Harms heute auf ihrer offiziellen mySpace Seite bekannt gab, heissen Lord ab sofort Lord of the Lost. Die Hintergründe für die plötzliche Namensänderung sind urheberrechtlicher Natur, da es bereits eine Band gibt, die den Namen Lord für sich beansprucht.
Hier das offizielle Statement von Lord of the Lost:
Due to the fact that the term „Lord“ is registered as a trademark by another band, we are forced to change our band´s name.
It wasn´t easy to find a name without losing the word „Lord“, but still a name we can feel and easiliy live with. It took a couple of days and hundreds of names, and in the end, with LORD OF THE LOST we are even happier than with just LORD.
We are also changing our URL to www.myspace.com/lordofthelost
